join team brave

“Team Brave” is a Community Reintegration Program partnered through Shriners Hospital for Children Boston, and The Boston Firefighters Burn Foundation and is designed to “Engage, Encourage and Empower” young burn survivors. This therapeutic recreation program allows pediatric burn survivors to build supportive friendships with Boston Firefighters, empowering children to participate in fun activities, which addresses both psycho-social and physical challenges they will face upon their return to their homes, schools and lives. These relationships have clinical value and can profoundly improve the participating child’s quality of life socially, psychologically, physically, and academically.

In volunteering for Team Brave you will be doing a variety of activities from bowling, indoor rock climbing, yoga, indoor rowing, duck tours, trips to the aquarium and much more. Below is a list of event dates and details, click on the date you are available for and provide your name and contact info and one of our board members will contact you with any details that are not provided below. Volunteering is reserved for Local 718 members only at this time, if any departments outside Boston would like to volunteer, please contact any one of our board members and we can get approval from Shriners Hospital.
